Associate Director Backyard Kids' Theater Marin City, CA Job Details Contract $25 - $40 an hour 10 hours ago Qualifications Student supervision Teamwork Working with students Leadership Teaching Full Job Description Overview Backyard Kids' Theater is seeking vibrant, inspiring, dynamic, and experienced musical theatre directors who are passionate about working with young performers, helping students build confidence, discipline, and teamwork. Applicants should have significant experience in performing as well as directing and teaching children. Each season consists of 5 casts of 27 children each, ages 7-16. Responsibilities Attend rehearsals, dress rehearsals, and performances as required Encourage teamwork, creativity, discipline, and respect Create a welcoming environment where every student feels empowered and encouraged to participate Maintain a safe, organized, and professional environment Calmly and kindly deal with student behavioral issues and report any issues to executive staff promptly Communicate professionally and effectively with parents and guardians Qualifications The ideal candidate is passionate about working with young performers, helping students build confidence, discipline, and teamwork Availability for afterschool rehearsals 4 days a week and weekend performances. Specific days each week can be flexible Ability to lead rehearsals in the absence of the artistic director Ability to lead vocal review in the absence of the music director Ability to learn and teach simple choreography Minimum 18 years of age Reliable transportation How to Apply /
