Job Description
Job Summary Art & Soul School is seeking an energetic, organized, and knowledgable Music Director to lead and grow our music department. This is an in-person, part-time leadership position based in Santa Rosa, California. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday from approximately 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM , with occasional evenings and weekends required for recitals, performances, special events, staff training, and community outreach activities . During regular afternoon hours, the Music Director will actively keep up on all curriculum, visit music classrooms, observe instruction, mentor music staff, provide coaching and support, and ensure that school policies, curriculum, procedures, deadlines, and program standards are consistently upheld throughout the department. This hands-on leadership presence is essential to maintaining a high-quality experience for students, families, and staff. The Music Director will also hold some teaching hours so staff can eventually train under this position. The Music Director's primary responsibilities are: Mentoring and developing our current music staff; this includes understanding all curriculum and (eventually) training all new mentors on this curriculum Planning, organizing, and managing all music recitals and performances Growing music enrollment and strengthening student retention This leadership role is responsible for creating a thriving music program through strong staff development, exceptional student experiences, and strategic enrollment growth. The Music Director will work closely with music mentors, administrative staff, students, and families to ensure a positive, professional, and inspiring environment that reflects the mission and values of Art & Soul School. The ideal candidate is a strong leader, teacher, team player, excellent communicator, and has a strong background in teaching multiple instruments. This candidate also enjoys developing teachers, building programs, and creating memorable experiences for students and families.
Pay:
$25.00 - $35.00 per hour Expected hours: 15.0 - 20.0 per weekBenefits:
