  • Part-time Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and inspiring Traditional Music Choir Director to lead and nurture the musical life of our church community.
This vital role involves guiding the Choir and congregation in meaningful worship through traditional music styles, fostering a vibrant musical environment, and mentoring choir members and musicians. The ideal candidate will bring energy, leadership, and a deep appreciation for sacred music traditions, creating an uplifting atmosphere that enhances spiritual growth and community connection. Duties Lead weekly rehearsals and coordinate the traditional music program for worship services, special events, and seasonal celebrations. Select appropriate hymns, choral pieces, and musical arrangements that align with the church's spiritual themes and liturgical calendar. Direct and inspire choir members and volunteer musicians, encouraging their development through mentorship and constructive feedback. Collaborate closely with pastor to integrate music seamlessly into the overall worship experience. Provide guidance on vocal techniques, musical interpretation, and performance practices to enhance the quality of congregational singing. Oversee the maintenance of musical instruments, sheet music, and related equipment to ensure readiness for all services. Foster a welcoming environment that promotes participation, learning, and shared passion for traditional sacred music. Skills Demonstrated experience in teaching choir members or musicians within a church or community setting. Excellent communication skills to clearly convey musical concepts and collaborate effectively with clergy and congregation members. Proven mentoring ability to support individual growth in musical skills and spiritual understanding. Deep knowledge of traditional church music styles, hymnody, choral arrangements, and liturgical practices. Ability to organize rehearsals efficiently while maintaining a positive, encouraging atmosphere. Flexibility to adapt musical selections based on seasonal themes or special occasions while maintaining fidelity to tradition.
