Job Description

Purpose:
To lead, accompany and expand the worship music ministry for our church, in consultation with the pastor and staff, utilizing a blended style of worship, bringing together traditional and contemporary music. To look for ways to incorporate a variety of music/musicians into worship services, consistent with the theological themes throughout the various seasons of the church
Responsibilities:
  • Provide musical accompaniment for all Sunday worship services including preludes, postludes, choral anthems, vocal solos, hymns, communion music and incidental music as needed.
  • Provide musical accompaniment for all holidays (e.g. Easter, Christmas) and special services (e.g. weddings, funerals)
  • Select/approve appropriate music for choirs and soloists and communicate with the Pastor and administrator in scheduling of choirs and hymn selections.
  • Rehearse and conduct the Chancel Choir, soloists and occasional additional musicians (for holidays and special services).
  • Encourage participation within the congregation, utilizing their talents and abilities.
  • Participate in church fellowship.
Qualifications:
  • Authentic relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and a genuine love and respect for people.
  • Ability to organize, coordinate, and encourage full participation of team members and the congregation.
  • Ability to play the piano and the church organ. Multi-instrumentalist preferred.
  • A familiarity of a wide range of musical styles/genres.

From $25,000.00 per year
