Shenandoah Community School District Position Overview The Shenandoah Community School District is seeking an energetic, creative, and student-centered Middle School Musical Director for the 2026-2027 school year. The Director will oversee all aspects of the middle school musical production, fostering a positive environment where students can develop their performing arts skills, build confidence, and collaborate as a team. Key ResponsibilitiesProduction Management:
Select an age-appropriate musical (in collaboration with the Activities Director) and manage all phases of production, including auditions, rehearsals, and performances.Artistic Direction:
Lead blocking, character development, and staging; coordinate with vocal and technical staff to ensure a cohesive performance.Student Mentorship:
Teach fundamental acting and stagecraft skills to middle school students of varying experience levels.Collaboration:
Work alongside the music department, parent volunteers, and custodial staff to coordinate rehearsal spaces and stage requirements.Supervision:
Ensure student safety and professional conduct during all rehearsals and production events. QualificationsExperience:
Previous experience in theater production, directing, or working with middle-school-aged youth.Skills:
Strong organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to inspire a diverse group of students.
