Reports to:
Director of Liturgical Music Safe Environment screening required. The Associate Director of Music provides support to the Director of Music in the direction of the parish liturgical music program. Liturgy Support o Help prepare worship aids and curate revisions for the hymnal. o Serve as cantor or accompanist for liturgies as needed. o Support the Director of Music in the preparation and celebration of daily Mass. o Support and assist the Director of Music with formation and rehearsal of the youth choral programs. o Assist with funeral and wedding liturgies as required. Youth Liturgical Choir o Form, recruit and direct youth liturgical choir programs grade school through high school. o Plan choral music for the season in consultation with the music director. o The youth choirs will provide music at the 11:00AM liturgy at least once per month during the choral season. o Direct and conduct special musical programs which highlight the youth scholas and young musicians in the parish. Music Office Support o Assist with management and proper care of the resources of the Music program such as instruments, music library, copyright licensing and reporting. o Attend church staff meetings and meetings with the pastor as requested. o Any other tasks as assigned by the music director. Desirable qualifications and personal attributes o Choral training, expertise and passion for youth choral technique and pedagogy. o Proficiency on organ/keyboards. o Knowledge and understanding of Catholic liturgical traditions and customs. o Willingness to support the mission of the Catholic Church.
