This individual will plan and coordinate weekly school Mass music, direct choir rehearsals, and organize performances and special events that enrich the spiritual and cultural life of the school community. The ideal candidate will support the mission of Covington Latin School. Plan and coordinate music for weekly school Mass in collaboration with campus ministry, administration, or clergy Select appropriate liturgical music aligned with the Catholic calendar and seasons (e.g., Advent, Lent, Easter) Prepare worship aids or music materials as needed Choir Direction & Rehearsals Lead regular choir rehearsals (schedule to be determined) Instruct students in vocal technique, harmony, and performance skills Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and disciplined rehearsal environment Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback Event Planning & Performances Organize and direct choir performances for school events (e.g., concerts, liturgies, assemblies, community events) Coordinate logistics for performances, including scheduling, attire, and equipment Explore opportunities for the choir to participate in community or diocesan events Program Development Recruit and retain student choir members Build a repertoire that reflects both traditional and contemporary sacred music Maintain music library and coordinate use of instruments and sound equipment Candidates should be a practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church as this role requires teaching about liturgical music and is a form of ministry.
