Season Description:
Triboro Youth Theatre is building its roster of Choreographers for the 2026-2027 season. This posting covers three grade-level programs across our Fall 2026 and Winter 2027 sessions. Candidates may for one program or several — it ismon for a single Choreographer to work multiple productions in a season. At TYT, choreography is a full creative partnership. You will work alongside the Production Director and Music Director from early rehearsals through closing night, creating and teaching movement that serves the production and meets every student w they are. Every registered student gets a role. No one is cut. Auditions determine placement only.
FALL 2026
(September-November)
WINTER 2027
(January-March) Both sessions run the same three programs: Grades 3-5: 2 rehearsals/week
  • 90 minutes
  • 8-10 weeks Grades 6-8: 2 rehearsals/week
  • 90 minutes
  • 8-10 weeks Grades 9-12: 2 rehearsals/week
  • 2 hours
  • 10-12 weeks All stipends are per production,mensurate with experience.
Staff hired for Fall or Winter sessions are encouraged to for Summer programs as well.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Create and teach all choreography for the production Collaborate with Director and Music Director as a unified creative team Design movement that is age-appropriate, production-enhancing, and achievable across a range of skill levels Adapt choreography as needed to serve both the production and the cast 30 minutes prior to actor arrival; remain approximately 10 minutes after dismissal Support TYT's inclusive, learn-by-doing philosophy Complete a CORI background check as required for all youth-serving staff
Qualifications:
REQUIRED
Demonstrated experience choreographing musical theatre productions with youth performers Ability to design and teach movement for performers of varying ages and skill levels Strong collaborative skills with Director and Music Director Authorization to work in the United States Ability to pass a CORI background check
PREFERRED
Versatility across multiple styles relevant to musical theatre (jazz, tap, contemporary, character movement) Experience across multiple age groups (elementary through high school) Connections to the southeastern Massachusetts performing artsmunity
