Brockton High School Harmonics Director Position Overview Brockton High School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Show Choir Director to lead Harmonics. The director will be responsible for organizing rehearsals, developing engaging performances, and preparing students for both school and community appearances and competitive events. About the Harmonics The Brockton High School Harmonics is an after-school show choir made up of singers and dancers. The group performs a diverse range of musical styles and showcases student creativity through both vocal performance and choreography. Harmonics is a highly visible ensemble, performing at school and community events, as well as competing in regional competitions throughout the academic year. Key Responsibilities Audition and select students for membership in the ensemble Lead and direct weekly rehearsals from September through March Select appropriate and engaging repertoire across a variety of musical styles Choreograph or coordinate choreography for performances Prepare students for performances at school and community events, as well as competitions Foster a positive, inclusive, and disciplined rehearsal environment Support student growth in vocal technique, performance skills, and teamwork Coordinate logistics for performances, including scheduling and communication Qualifications Experience in choral direction, music education, or show choir leadership Strong background in vocal music and/or choreography Ability to work effectively with high school students Excellent organizational and communication skills Passion for performing arts and student development Time Commitment Approximately 145 hours of work from September through March Performance Responsibilities Harmonics performs at community events and competitions throughout the academic year, such as Bay State Show Choir Festival and Central Mass Show Choir Festival. It is the responsibility of the Harmonics Director to identify, coordinate, and organize these performance opportunities.
