In this vital role, you will cultivate a vibrant musical environment that inspires spiritual growth, fosters community engagement, and enhances our worship experiences. Your leadership will energize our congregation through inspiring music, mentorship of musicians, and innovative musical direction. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to shape the musical heartbeat of our church community and bring joy through music every week. uucgl.org Duties Develop and implement a comprehensive music program that aligns with the church's spiritual mission and enhances worship services. Lead rehearsals for choir members, musicians, and volunteers to ensure cohesive and uplifting performances. Select appropriate hymns, contemporary songs, and special musical pieces that resonate with the congregation. Mentor and train choir members, instrumentalists, and volunteers to foster their musical growth and confidence. Collaborate with pastors and worship teams to coordinate musical elements for weekly services, special events, and seasonal celebrations. Oversee the maintenance of musical instruments, sound equipment, and related resources to ensure optimal performance. Encourage community participation by promoting musical involvement across all age groups and skill levels. Requirements Proven experience in teaching music or leading church choirs with energetic enthusiasm. Strong leadership skills to motivate and guide diverse groups of musicians and volunteers. Excellent communication skills for clear direction, mentorship, and collaboration with Minister and congregation members. Knowledge of various musical styles suitable for worship settings; knowledge of Unitarian Universalism a plus. Ability to plan and lead rehearsals efficiently while maintaining a lively, engaging atmosphere. Passion for inspiring others through music and a commitment to supporting the spiritual growth of the congregation.
Pay:
$36.00 - $38.00 per hour
