The Drowsy Chaperone Description:
Bentley University's Arts and Performance Organization is seeking a Director of Music for our fall production of The Drowsy Chaperone. Production will run from the beginning of September to November of 2026, with shows taking place during the weekend of November 19th. After the contract has cleared with the university the director of music's stipend of $1,800 will be paid at the end of the production by the University. Housing and transportation will not be provided.
Qualifications:
We are particularly interested in candidates with experience working with college-aged students and students who have little to no experience reading music and performing. Expectations are to teach students their music for the show and encourage them to be stronger singers. Must be willing to work with our Vice President of Production, an elected member of ouranization in charge of all production aspects of the show (e.g. lighting, sound, props, costumes, hair & makeup, etc.). Their job is to help you execute your vision for the show within the means of ouranization. We will also be hiring an acting director who will run rehearsals and a choreographer to instruct dance numbers, it is expected that all three positions are able to collaborate efficiently with one another. We highly rmend that candidates showcase any experience they may have in rehearsal piano apaniment. Preferred candidates reside in the greater-Boston area and have a flexible schedule.
