We welcome individuals who bring a passion for teaching instrumental music. Located in Baltimore, Archbishop Curley High School is a Roman Catholic college preparatory school rooted in the Franciscan tradition and dedicated to the development of the "Curley Man," who is challenged to reach his maximum academic and personal potential, leading him to become a man of faith, character, discipline, and service to others. Essential Functions Oversee and lead the instrumental performing ensembles in rehearsals, performances, and competitions. Plan and implement daily lessons for students based on the school curriculum and in line with Catholic teachings. Manage all aspects of the classroom, including instruction, discipline, and communication. Communicate student progress with parents through in-person and online systems. Create and maintain a flexible rehearsal schedule. Participate in co-curricular programs. Engage in professional development opportunities. Understand and convey Archbishop Curley High School's mission and vision. Position Qualifications A bachelor's degree or higher in Music Education, Applied Music, or a related field, along with documented performing and/or conducting experience in concert band, drumline, and jazz band. The ideal candidate will have MSDE certification in Music for grades 9-12. Prior experience directing and administering a school instrumental music program is preferred. Experience teaching all levels of high school instrumental music, with pedagogical skills that encourage students' critical thinking. Understanding the need for curriculum development and academic collaboration. Attuned to the needs of 21st-century students. A desire to embrace the values of a Franciscan education and the Curley community, both in and outside of the classroom.
