In this vital role, you will oversee the musical aspects of church services and special events, ensuring a vibrant and spiritually uplifting experience for all attendees. Your leadership will foster a welcoming environment for musicians and congregants alike, promoting musical excellence, spiritual growth, and community engagement. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of liturgical music, strong leadership skills, and a heart dedicated to faith-based service. Responsibilities In consultation with the Pastor, assess our current music ministry to determine if and what changes may need to be taken to best reach the overall goal and take the steps necessary to achieve the same. Plan and coordinate music selections for weekly church services, special events, and seasonal celebrations, ensuring alignment with liturgical themes. Provide leadership for all musical groups bringing them together as one ministry. Oversee the rehearsal schedule, ensuring all musicians are prepared and confident for service performances. Select appropriate musical arrangements and oversee the management of musical instruments such as piano, keyboard, guitars, drums, and other church instruments. Collaborate with religious leaders to integrate music seamlessly into worship experiences while maintaining musical liturgical knowledge. Manage the logistics of musical productions during services, including reading sheet music and managing sound equipment when necessary. Promote teamwork within the music ministry by encouraging communication skills, leadership development, and mentoring among team members. Proven experience conducting church choirs or leading praise and worship teams in a faith-based setting. Strong background in reading sheet music and performing vocal or instrumental music at a professional or semi-professional level. Demonstrated ability to manage musical productions from planning through execution in a church environment. Knowledge of religious leadership principles combined with musical liturgical knowledge to support worship services effectively. Experience with teaching vocal techniques or providing vocal training to diverse age groups is highly desirable.
