Choir Director Shepherd of the Lakes Lutheran Church - 3.0 Wolverine Lake, MI Job Details Part-time $10,000 - $12,000 a year 4 hours ago Qualifications Teaching music Piano Teaching Full Job Description Job Overview We are seeking a Choir Director to nurture the spiritual growth in the congregation through directing and accompanying the vocal choir and directing the bell choir, while providing an inclusive environment for those desiring to participate in either choir. This position is a part-time position, off in the summer. Duties Leading and accompanying Vocal and Bell Choirs, while engaging members of all ages for the purpose of leading and supporting Sunday morning worship services. Direct weekly rehearsals and lead the choirs during scheduled worship services. Both the Vocal and Bell choirs participate in two Sunday services per month. Collaborate with the Pastor and Worship Committee to select and plan music which engages the weekly readings and seasonal liturgies. Conduct and communicate with members and the church office a regular schedule of rehearsals and specially scheduled rehearsals at times that best gathers the ensemble members and director. Submit a Choir Ministry report for the congregation's annual meeting in January. Purchase necessary choral and bell sheet music and supplies using funds set aside within the Music Budget while following copyright laws. Recommend maintenance of choir robes, bells, or related items to the Worship Committee. Qualifications Necessary musical skills and competencies in conducting, teaching, and accompanying on piano. Ability to plan, schedule, prioritize, take initiative, and be self-directed on a variety of tasks.
