Job Description

Riverside Baptist Church is seeking a part-time Music Director who is committed to glorifying God through Christ-centered, biblically-faithful music. The ideal candidate will be of like mind with our congregation, affirm the Baptist Faith and Message 2000, and demonstrate a growing, personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. This individual will lead and develop a music ministry that supports worship through a blend of traditional hymns and biblically sound contemporary songs.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and direct a traditional church choir that sings a variety of music, including weekly rehearsals and special presentations Lead praise team Lead congregational singing during worship services, incorporating both traditional hymns and contemporary worship music Coordinate and communicate regularly with pastoral staff, secretary, musicians, and sound team regarding order of service and music selection Prepare and organize music for regular services, as well as special services (e.g., holidays, revivals, and other church events) Oversee and manage the music ministry budget responsibly
Qualifications and Essential Skills:
A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and evidence of a growing relationship with Him Agreement with and adherence to the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 Strong working knowledge of music, including vocal leadership and basic music direction Ability to lead both choir and congregation effectively Good communication and organizational skills Faithful attendance and active participation in the life of the church

Demonstrates a servant's heart and a spirit of unity within the church body Maintains a lifestyle consistent with biblical standards Works collaboratively with church leadership to support the overall mission of the church
Time Commitment:
This is a part-time position, requiring weekly preparation, rehearsals, Sunday services, and additional time for special events throughout the year.
