We are an equal opportunity employer. St. Michael's does not discriminate based on an individual's race, color, sex, national origin, age, familial status, disability, veteran or military status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression. PURPOSE The Director(s) of Music Ministries is responsible to the Rector for the leadership and development of the music ministries of St. Michael & All Angels Episcopal Church. The Director works collaboratively with clergy, staff, volunteer musicians, and other music leaders to support the worship, formation, and community life of the parish. The Director provides vision, musical leadership, recruitment, training, and pastoral support for singers and instrumentalists, helping cultivate a vibrant and participatory culture of music-making that reflects the diversity of the congregation and the wider community. VISION St. Michael's has traditionally built its music ministries through the gifts of volunteer singers and instrumentalists from within the congregation (though we do have a few paid musicians in the groups as well). We value music not only as an offering in worship, but as a means of building Christian community. We seek leaders who will recruit, develop, encourage, and celebrate musicians of varying skill levels while fostering musical excellence, broad participation, and spiritual growth. We are especially interested in candidates who bring creativity, initiative, and the capacity to build a program for the future, rather than simply maintaining what they have done before or what the parish has done in the past.
