Part-Time Music Director, Cohoes

The Church of the Holy Trinity and St. Michael's Church are seeking a talented and dedicated Part-Time Music Director to support and enrich the liturgical life of our parish communities through sacred music.

Functions/Responsibilities:

The Music Director will be responsible for: Providing music for four weekend Masses each week. Providing music for Holy Days and major feast day liturgies throughout the year. Serving as both instrumentalist and cantor/soloist for parish liturgies. Providing music for funerals and weddings, when available. Working collaboratively with the Pastor and parish staff in planning music appropriate to the liturgical season and celebration. Helping foster a prayerful and welcoming atmosphere through high-quality sacred music.

Minimum Requirements:

The ideal candidate should: Be proficient in both organ and piano. Be a strong and confident solo vocalist/cantor. Have a working knowledge of Catholic liturgy and sacred music, or a willingness to become Be dependable, professional, and able to work collaboratively with parish clergy and staff.

Additional Information:

Compensation & Benefits $500 per week for all regularly scheduled weekend Masses and parish feast day/Holy Day liturgies. $150 per funeral. $300 per wedding. Four weeks of paid vacation annually. Standard paid sick time in accordance with parish/diocesan employment policies. This is an excellent opportunity for a musician who desires to use his or her gifts to serve the Church and contribute to the prayer and worship of two welcoming parish communities.
