Overview The Little Delaware Youth Orchestra is a string orchestra Join our dynamic preparatory orchestra team as a Conductor, where your leadership and musical expertise will inspire young musicians to develop their skills and passion for music. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to shape the future of LDYE by working with students who are new to ensemble playing. Duties Lead rehearsals and performances for the preparatory orchestra, ensuring cohesive interpretation and execution of musical pieces. Rehearsals take place Monday afternoons during the school year. Develop rehearsal plans that meet the needs and abilities of students. Work with the music director to develop the program. Maintain a positive, motivating atmosphere that encourages creativity, discipline, and teamwork among young musicians Oversee the setup of rehearsal spaces and ensure all equipment, including music stands and instruments, are properly arranged Skills Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire young musicians in a lively environment A good ability to work with novice musicians This role is ideal for energetic professionals passionate about nurturing young talent through engaging leadership and musical excellence.
