School Year Position Summary:
The Drama Club Director will lead and direct the 5th- and 6th-grade Drama Club, fostering students' creativity, confidence, and collaboration through the production of a musical performance. This position involves running rehearsals and coordinating with the PTO and parent volunteers.
Responsibilities:
Conduct rehearsals twice a week after school (2 hours each) and supervise students, ensuring a safe and supportive environment. Direct students in acting, movement, voice, and stage presence while providing feedback and encouragement to foster skill development and teamwork. Collaborate with the assistant director/choreographer about blocking and movement. Team up with PTO, parents, and student volunteers on sets, costumes, props, and calendars. Lead and oversee tech week of approximately 16 hours of rehearsals (spread over 4 days) leading up to the 2 performances.
Skills & Experience Required:
Prior experience directing youth theater, teaching drama or voice, or leading performing arts activities. Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Knowledge of theater production elements (blocking, stage movement, basic technical theater), strong vocal ability, and proficiency in teaching children to sing. Experience engaging and managing middle schoolage students with creativity, flexibility, and patience in working with young performers. Must pass required background checks.
Potential Showtimes:
Option 1 - Start September 20, 2026 - Performance December 19-20, 2026 with after-school practices. Option 2 - Start November 6, 2026 - Performance February 13-14, 2027 with after-school practices.

Stipend Range:
