The choir director works with the choir in rehearsals and worship to enhance worship and aid the congregation in its mission of Making Disciples of Jesus Christ for the Transformation of the World. You will be working with a gifted and highly decorated accompanist. Hours will vary but anticipated employment is between 5 to 10 hours a week with an increase in hours for cantata performances twice a year.

Salary is dependent upon resume and experience.
QUALIFICATIONS

Familiarity and fluency in a wide range of musical styles A team player withstrong communication and leadership skills Creativity and attention to details Problem solving abilities and adaptability Competent rehearsal techniques Open to giving and receiving constructive criticism
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Back up for organist/piano player when not available Coordinate with the church pastor or leadership to ensure the music ministry complements the overall church mission Plan and coordinate music for special worship services such as Christmas and Easter Order music and see that the music library is maintained. Prepare and direct the choir for services Grow the choir musically Establish and grow a professional relationship with choir members
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation.

This position requires frequent sitting with repetitive movements of the arms and shoulders for extended periods of time. The candidate must have good dexterity and hand coordination when performing work tasks,Must be comfortable working in a religious institution.
