A Music Director leads music ensembles in a variety of different settings. Conducts orchestras or choral groups, church choirs, or pit orchestras in a music theatre production. Chooses music for performances, or composes or arranges music for ensembles to perform; runs rehearsals and directs soloists or guest performers.
Anticipated Vacancy for a Middle School (LH) Chorus for School Year 2026-2027.
Responsibilities:
Plan and conduct regular choral rehearsals outside of regular instructional hours (before or after school). Instruct students in basic music theory, sight-reading, and choral discipline. Organize and direct scheduled public choral performances (such as winter and spring concerts) and school assemblies. Collaborate with building administrators to schedule concert venues, coordinate rehearsal times, and manage performance logistics. Oversee stage setup, risers, acoustic shells, and accompaniment needs for all performances. Manage and maintain the choral sheet music library and equipment. Coordinate with accompanists and technical staff to support choral events. Strong background in choral conducting and piano accompaniment. Classroom management and communication skills tailored to middle school-aged students.
Qualification:
All required clearances, physical and TB test, and District requirements must be completed before employment.
