05/26/2026 PURPOSE To assist in the instruction, supervision, and development of students in the marching band program, including music performance, marching technique, and visual presentation, under the direction of the Marching Band Director.
QUALIFICATIONS TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Graduation from high school. Demonstrated experience in marching band, music performance, or related instructional areas (e.g., brass, woodwind, percussion, color guard, drill/marching technique). Prior instructional experience with students preferred. GENERAL Ability to work cooperatively with students, staff, and volunteers. Demonstrates professionalism, maturity, and the ability to positively engage with students. Self-motivated and able to follow direction while working independently within assigned responsibilities. Maintains confidentiality and adheres to district policies and procedures. Complies with all district discipline procedures and expectations. Must obtain and maintain required clearances: Pennsylvania State Criminal History (Act 34) Federal Criminal History (Act 114 – Fingerprinting) Pennsylvania Child Abuse (Act 151) Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure (Act 168)

Marching Band Director and High School Principal or designee.
EVALUATION
Completed by the Marching Band Director and/or High School Principal or designee.
COMPENSATION
As per annual Board approval and the Extracurricular Employees' Salary Schedule in the current contract.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in the instruction of music, marching fundamentals, and visual performance techniques during rehearsals and performances. Support sectional rehearsals (brass, woodwind, percussion, color guard, etc.) as assigned. Reinforce performance expectations, proper technique, and rehearsal discipline. Assist with teaching and cleaning drill and choreography. Supervise students during rehearsals, practices, and performances, ensuring safety and appropriate behavior at all times. Collaborate with the Marching Band Director and other instructional staff to implement the instructional program. Assist with the setup, operation, and teardown of equipment, instruments, props, and uniforms. Support the care, maintenance, and storage of band equipment and materials. Participate in staff meetings, rehearsals, band camp, and scheduled events as assigned. Stay informed of marching band best practices and circuit expectations as applicable. Model positive behavior, professionalism, and teamwork for students. Perform other duties as assigned by the Marching Band Director or High School Principal/designee.

Occasional driving to school district offices, classrooms, regional offices, and practice facilities throughout the district Frequent walking throughout various buildings and grounds including climbing up and down stairs Standing for a period; up to two hours Moderate lifting from 15 to 30 pounds Some carrying – up to 30 pounds
