BRISTOL, RI
Posted 14 hours ago Job Title Organist/ Director of Music Ministry Name of church or organization St. Michael's Episcopal Church Job Location
BRISTOL, RI
The Organist/Director of Music Ministries for St. Michael's will provide leadership through music on Sunday mornings, enhance our worship with directing the choir, and be a source of teaching for all parishioners who want to connect their spiritual journey through music. In addition to playing and directing on Sundays, the Organist/Director of Music Ministries will be responsible for ordering and maintaining the music library, scheduling maintenance needs for the organ and piano, gather the choir for rehearsal one night a week (typically Thursdays) and before the 10 a.m. service on Sundays. The Organist/Director of Music Ministries reports directly to the rector. Together with the rector and members of our liturgy committee, we will plan the music for the upcoming liturgical season. In addition to planning, they will select anthems for the choir to sing, prelude and postlude pieces. We are currently rebuilding our choir and look forward to establishing a paid section leader component with voices that will help lead and guide each section. The Organist/Director of Music Ministries will work with the rector to interview and hire these four positions. We are looking for someone who is creative, collaborative, and Christ-centered. It is our hope to find an organist/music director who is familiar with the Anglican tradition of worship and hymns who can help us lift our praise through music on Sundays. We are already praying for you and we hope to meet you soon. Type of Commitment Part Time Does this job pay? Yes
