Job Description

Band Leader 40 hours per week The Church of the Cross is an Anglican Community with a long history in Bluffton, South Carolina. We are seeking a full-time position responsible for leading and developing bands in contemporary music at our CrossPoint, and School Chapel services.
Ministry Position:
This staff position is committed to the Parish's vision, mission, and strategy and supports the clergy, staff, and congregation through music, communication, service planning and Christian caring.
Ministry Responsibilities:
Lead the band in congregational worship. Maintain and grow the CrossPoint worship team. This requires recruiting, training and ongoing development of the members of the group. It includes scheduling and leading rehearsals and the maintenance of music files. Leading, maintaining and growing the Cross Schools worship team in cooperation with the Faith Formation Department. Leading worship alongside or as a substitute for the band leader at the Saturday evening service at the Historic Campus as needed. In cooperation with the Worship Director and clergy, the Band Leader will help plan services including but not limited to, song selection and coordination of seasonal services (Advent, Christmas, Easter, etc…) Provide music for occasional events (River Baptism, Nights of Prayer, etc.). Seek an ever deeper understanding of Anglican worship through reading, conferences, study and prayer. Continue to grow and mature in your faith and commitment to serving TCOTC congregation. Communicate clearly with volunteers and the worship team: build schedules and share chords/music with team members through Planning Center Online (PCO). Ensures that music and liturgy are input properly to PCO and then to ProPresenter to create weekly service slides. Personally model worship in a way that encourages greater participation and openness to the moving of the Holy Spirit within the sacramental life of the Anglican liturgy. Assist in maintaining service production technology across all TCOTC locations. Other duties as assigned
Professional/Personal Requirements:
Love of the Lord and caring heart for Christ's Church Confirmed member of the Anglican tradition or willing to work towards that end In agreement with and supportive of the Parish's Statement of Faith Vocal skills Proficiency in acoustic guitar and/or keyboard Desire to recruit, lead and love musicians/singers A basic knowledge of audio/visual equipment and systems and willingness to gain proficiency in this area. $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
