M - F - Rotating schedule on weekdays to allow for evening rehearsals, and weekends as required (40 hours/week).

Summary:
Holy Trinity Catholic Church in San Antonio, TX, is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Music Director to join our vibrant parish community. The ideal candidate will preferably be a bilingual (Spanish-English) speaker with a passion for music and a commitment to fostering an inclusive and spiritually enriching worship environment. This role involves coordinating volunteer musicians and choir directors, planning music for liturgical services, and ensuring that music ministry activities align with the Church's mission and values.
Requirements:
Position Responsibilities:
Plan and coordinate music for all weekend masses, holy days, weddings, funerals, and other parish events, ensuring a diverse and inclusive selection that caters to our bilingual community. Direct and oversee the parish choirs, including recruitment, rehearsal, and performance management, with a focus on fostering a collaborative and supportive environment. Work closely with volunteer musicians and choir directors to schedule rehearsals, select appropriate music, and ensure high-quality performances. Collaborate with the pastoral team to integrate music ministry into the broader church mission, contributing to liturgical planning and community engagement initiatives. Manage the music ministry, including purchasing music, equipment, and other necessary materials while ensuring cost-effectiveness with Administrative approval. Provide musical education and training opportunities for choir members and musicians to enhance their skills and participation in liturgical services. Stay informed about liturgical music trends and best practices, incorporating new ideas and resources to enrich the parish's musical offerings.
Qualifications:
Musically proficient in both Spanish and English preferred, as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills. A degree in Music, Liturgical Music, or a related field, or equivalent experience in music direction within a church setting. Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to coordinate and motivate volunteer musicians and choirs. Proficiency in playing the piano or organ and a comprehensive understanding of liturgical music. Practicing catholic with a thorough understanding of Catholic liturgy and traditions, and a commitment to the values and mission of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and special church events as required.
