Worship Leader & K-8 Vocal Music Instructor- New Testament Christian Academy About Us New Testament Christian Academy is a small, vibrant Christian school dedicated to academic excellence, spiritual maturity, and Christ-centered character development. Guided by Proverbs 22:6 — "Train up a child in the way he should go…" — we help students discover and develop their God-given gifts to serve Christ and the community. Position Overview NTCA is seeking a Spirit-led Worship Leader & K-8 Vocal Music Instructor who will inspire students to grow in worship, musical skill, and personal faith. This role combines worship leadership, vocal instruction, and coordination of school-wide music events. The ideal candidate is a strong vocalist with worship-leading experience, vocal ensemble direction, and proficiency in piano or keyboard accompaniment. Key Responsibilities Worship Leadership (Primary Focus) Lead and mentor student worship teams for weekly chapel services. Select Christ-centered, age-appropriate worship music that supports spiritual formation. Train students in vocal technique, harmony, stage presence, and worship leadership. Vocal & Choral Instruction Teach K-8 vocal music classes focused on singing technique, musical literacy, and performance confidence. Direct elementary and middle school choirs or vocal ensembles. Prepare students for worship events, concerts, and special performances. School Performances & Special Events Plan, rehearse, and direct major school programs, including: Christmas and Easter Services Black History Month Program Graduation ceremonies Collaborate with administration to integrate worship and music into school-wide events. Classroom & Administrative Duties Maintain a Christ-centered, well-managed, and engaging classroom environment. Complete grading, communication, and administrative tasks in a timely manner. Build positive, professional relationships with students, families, and staff.
Spiritual & Professional Qualifications Christian Faith:
A committed follower of Jesus Christ who models a Biblical lifestyle and aligns with NTCA's Statement of Faith.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Music, Worship Ministry, Music Education, or related field preferred. Equivalent ministry or worship leadership experience considered.
Musical Skills:
Strong vocal ability and worship-leading experience required. Piano/keyboard proficiency strongly preferred. Ability to teach basic classroom instruments (ukulele, recorder, percussion) is a plus.
Certification:
State teaching license or ACSI certification preferred but not required for worship-focused candidates. Pay:
$45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
