As a key contributor to our worship team, you will create inspiring musical atmospheres that resonate with congregation and visitors alike. Your dedication will help foster a welcoming environment through the power of music to elevate the collective worship experience. Responsibilities Perform on the church's pipe organ and piano during weekly services, special events, and ceremonies, ensuring musical excellence and appropriate mood setting. Select and prepare music that aligns with liturgical themes, seasonal celebrations, and community preferences. Read sheet music fluently to interpret compositions accurately and confidently. Collaborate with the choir director, pastor, and other musicians to arrange harmonies and adapt pieces as needed for different service formats. Oversee the maintenance and tuning of the organ regularly to ensure optimal sound quality during performances. Qualifications Demonstrated proficiency in the organ and piano as needed for worship experiences as well as accompanying the choir and collaborating with soloists. Experience in providing music for traditional church worship, Protestant hymnody, and liturgical practice. Exhibit a willingness to work with staff to create meaningful worship experiences through music selection, program notes, etc. Effective communication skills and a collaborative mindset. Personal commitment to a Christian life and the mission of the church Proficiency in reading sheet music across multiple genres and styles. A degree in Music or Organ Performance is required.
