Job Description

Position Summary We are seeking an energetic and inspiring Praise Band Leader to direct the contemporary worship music ministry for Long Neck Methodist Church, leading the band and vocal team to facilitate vibrant, Spirit-led worship services. Key Responsibilities Work in conjunction with the pastor to select and plan appropriate music for worship, ensuring the music enhances the spiritual goals of the service Arrange music to suit the band's skill level and the congregation's needs Schedule and lead rehearsals, ensuring the band is well-prepared and cohesive in sound Provide instrumental and vocal accompaniment; recruit, train and mentor praise band members; provide constructive feedback to improve musical skills and teamwork Work with the AV team to ensure audio quality, lyrics projection and smooth transitions Oversee the maintenance of musical equipment and ensure all instruments are in optimal condition for performances Qualifications Proven experience leading or participating in a praise band, with familiarity in contemporary Christian music Strong skills in at least one instrument (preferably guitar) and a solid understanding of music theory and arrangement. Vocal skills is a plus. Excellent communication skills and willingness to collaborate with band members, pastor, staff and the congregation Ability to select songs, styles or arrangements to suit the congregation's needs or the service's tone Experience with sound equipment, microphones, amplifiers, and related technology Demonstrated leadership skills in managing volunteers and fostering teamwork Capability to train and encourage band members, helping them grow musically and spiritually Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
