Organist / Keyboardist Community Church Atlanta Atlanta, GA Job Details Part-time | Contract $350 - $500 a week 22 hours ago Qualifications Organ playing Religious music performance experience Musical instruments Band member experience Church service musical performance experience Full Job Description Community Church seeks a spiritually gifted and talented Keyboard and or a Hammond B-3 organist to accompany our band for Sunday worship services and other occasions as needed. Responsibilities Lead band in rehearsing the songs selected by the Worship Leader. Resolve personnel or interpersonal issues in the band and communicate concerns that cannot be resolved to the Chief of Staff. Communicate hardware and software needs. Give direction to instrumentalists during rehearsal and worship service. Follow the lead of the Worship Leader during the service. Collaborate with the Worship and Creative Tech Teams Maintain skill playing the Keyboard and or Hammond B-3 organ/piano through personal practice. Take direction, improvise as needed, and work as a team member. Independently practice selected music for rehearsals and services prior to arrival. Play for special services/events as assigned. Hold instrumentalist accountable for being on time and operating in excellence. Reports to the Chief of Staff Required Qualifications Display excellence and expertise playing the Hammond B-3 organ or piano. Regular, punctual attendance at Sunday worship services from 8AM to 12:00PM and weekly rehearsals on Saturday from 10 AM to 12:00 PM. Proficient in providing musical accompaniment that flows with the preacher during sermons as needed. Prior experience playing at an African American bible-believing church. Qualified applicants will be well-versed in traditional and contemporary gospel music and hymns. Demonstrate confidence in being the principal instrumentalist when needed. Preferred Qualifications Have a clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a vital, growing personal relationship with him. Effective in playing the piano as well. Compensation Compensation is a set rate per service rendered. This position is classified as part-time and does not include vacation, sick leave, or healthcare benefits.
