Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and talented Organist to bring vibrant musical energy to our church and community. In this role, you will be responsible for providing inspiring organ music that enhances worship services, special events, and community gatherings. Your musical expertise will help create a welcoming atmosphere, uplift spirits, and deepen the spiritual experience for all attendees. Job Summary :
The position of Organist will be a staff program position by Centreville Methodist Church (CMC). This position requires a minimum of approximately five to six hours per week for organist services including but not limited to playing for worship, choir, and preparation.Minimum Qualifications :
College and music education are preferred. One year of successful experience as an organist.Purpose:
Provide organ/piano music for weekly church services and special functions. Provide accompaniment for Chancel Choir Rehearsals.Accountability:
Be accountable to the Staff Parish Relations Committee (SPRC), who monitor progress and conducts bi-annual performance evaluations. There will be a three-month probation period. Essential Functions Provide liturgically appropriate music for weekly traditional church service. Meet and practice with the CMC Chancel Choir on a weekly basis (Late August -Mid June) and with all other choirs on an "as needed" basis. Meet and practice with musicians for 'special music' during the summer schedule. Arrive for rehearsals and services in a timely manner with all music adequately prepared. Provide music and accompaniment for special services, funerals and weddings subject to availability. Submit information regarding church services for weekly bulletin in a timely manner. Collaborate with the Office Manager for maintenance and tuning of piano and organ. Serve as a member of the Worship Committee. Perform other duties as assigned by the Pastor. Attend annual local Charge/Church Conference.Other Essentials :
