Music Academy is looking for talented, dependable musicians to join our growing teaching team. We're especially interested in musicians who teach: Guitar Piano Voice Drums Violin We welcome applicants from a variety of musical backgrounds. You might be an experienced private instructor, a working or gigging musician, a music student or graduate, a classroom educator, or someone who has developed years of experience performing and teaching independently. You do not need to teach every instrument listed. If you are a strong musician who enjoys teaching your instrument, we would like to hear from you. About the Position Our instructors primarily teach one-on-one private music lessons to children, teens, and adults. Students range from complete beginners taking their first lesson to experienced musicians looking to continue developing their skills. We are looking for instructors who can create a positive, encouraging environment while adapting lessons to the interests, goals, and abilities of each student. Teaching opportunities are generally available one or more days per week , with the greatest student demand during weekday afternoons/evenings and Saturdays. What We're Looking For Ideal candidates are: Proficient on the instrument(s) they teach Friendly, patient, and comfortable working with students of different ages Dependable and professional Able to communicate well with students, parents, and academy staff Interested in maintaining a consistent weekly teaching schedule Enthusiastic about music and helping students improve Previous teaching experience is valuable, but we are also interested in accomplished musicians who have the personality and communication skills to become excellent instructors. Why Teach With Us? We handle the administrative side of running a private teaching schedule so our instructors can concentrate on teaching. Our academies provide the teaching space, student scheduling, billing, enrollment, and ongoing marketing needed to build and maintain a roster of students. Rather than having to find students, collect payments, or operate your own teaching studio, you can come in and focus on music. Multiple Locations We operate Music Academy locations throughout Metro Detroit. This posting is not tied to a single location. We will ask applicants which locations they would realistically consider and compare that with our current and upcoming teaching needs.
