Church Musical Accompanist Elizabeth Street United Methodist Church Durham, NC Job Details Part-time $125 a week 9 hours ago Qualifications Religious music performance experience Piano Budgeting Empathy Ordering supplies Full Job Description Church Musical Accompanist Job Description This staff member coordinates with the choir director and pastor to provide music for worship services and other programs. This staff member works part time under the supervision of the Pastor and is directly accountable to the Staff Parish Relations Committee (SPRC). Annual reviews and possible salary adjustments for this position are made by SPRC. : This position is a part-time salaried position : The Accompanist is responsible for providing instrumental music of the church, including during worship services, special services, and choir practices. The Accompanist works in conjunction with the pastor and choir director to select music and provides adequate and appropriate rehearsal time to prepare for all regular and special worship. Ordering of worship is the primary responsibility of the pastor. Therefore, all services of worship and planning must first be reviewed and approved by the pastor. All musical worship elements must be submitted to the pastor at least three days prior to the printing of the worship bulletins. Seasonal services, special services, and programs must be submitted two weeks prior to the scheduling date. The Pastor and/or Choir Director will provide at least one week's notice of any special services outside of Sunday worship. The Accompanist performs the duties required by the music program of Elizabeth Street UMC (ESUMC) which include, but are not limited to: Working with the pastor, choir director, and the church staff in planning the music for all church services Report and help coordinate instrument maintenance needs with the church office. In coordination with the Pastor and Choir Director, preparing and managing the selection and ordering of music and supplies in accordance with the music budget at
ESUMC :
Adequate music training to fulfill the needs of the ESUMC music ministry 2. Experience with piano solo and accompaniment required. Ability to accompany hymns on both piano and organ preferred. Other instrumental music is welcome as agreed with the pastor and choir director. Empathetic musical and social attunement to Christian faith expression and liturgy. 4. Commitment to ESUMC's inclusive mission and developing congregants through music and worship support. Must possess strong relational skills and with the ability to work as an effective member of a multi-person staff Commitment to ESUMC and involvement in the development of participants in its ministriesPay:
