Part-Time/Contract Position Summary The Church Keyboard Player is responsible for providing musical accompaniment during worship services, rehearsals, special programs, and ministry events. The individual will work closely with the Lead Worship Leader, Praise Team, and Music Ministry to create an atmosphere of worship that supports the vision and mission of the church. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesWorship Services Provide keyboard accompaniment for Sunday worship services. Support congregational worship through music. Follow the direction of the Worship Leader and Pastor during services. Be prepared to play during altar calls, prayer, communion, and other ministry moments as needed. Praise Team Support Accompany the Praise and Worship Team during rehearsals and services. Learn and practice selected songs prior to scheduled services. Assist with musical arrangements and transitions when appropriate. Maintain a spirit of teamwork and cooperation with singers and other musicians. Special Services and Events Provide musical accompaniment for special church services, including but not limited to: Revival Services Conferences Prayer Services Pentecost Services Christmas and Easter Programs Church Anniversaries Youth Services Special Worship Events Provide music for funerals, memorial services, and homegoing celebrations as requested. Provide music for weddings and other church-sponsored events when available. Rehearsals Attend scheduled rehearsals and arrive prepared. Practice independently to ensure proficiency with selected music. Work collaboratively with the Worship Leader and Music Ministry. Professional Expectations Arrive on time and prepared for all services and rehearsals. Maintain a respectful and professional attitude. Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability during worship services. Uphold the values, mission, and standards of the church. Qualifications Required Proficiency in playing keyboard/piano in a church or worship setting. Ability to play contemporary gospel, traditional gospel, hymns, praise and worship music, and other Christian music styles. Ability to follow vocalists and adapt to spontaneous changes during worship. Strong sense of rhythm, timing, and musicality. Reliable transportation and dependable attendance. Preferred Previous experience serving in a church music ministry. Ability to play by ear and read chord charts. Experience accompanying choirs, praise teams, and soloists. Knowledge of contemporary worship styles. Physical Requirements Ability to sit and play for extended periods during rehearsals and services. Ability to lift and transport music equipment and materials when necessary. Compensation Compensation will be determined based on experience and service requirements. Additional compensation may be provided for funerals, weddings, conferences, and special events. Acknowledgment The Church Keyboard Player serves as a ministry partner and is expected to support the spiritual atmosphere and worship experience of the congregation through musical excellence and a heart for ministry.
