Part-time, 12-month positionTime Commitment:
Estimated 5-9 hours weekly Sanctuary Choir rehearsals on Wednesdays (mid-August -May) 52 weekly worship services (2 paid Sundays off) Special seasonal worship services. Expectations adjusted in consultation with Pastor and Staff-Parish Relations Committee (SPPRC).Salary:
Commensurate with experience and training. ($21.21-$28.85 per hour) Purpose To provide high-quality organ music on the Reuter 8 rank unit pipe organ, circa 1972, in support of congregational worship and the overall ministry of the church. Accountability & Supervision Day-to-day supervision by the Pastor. Work collaboratively with Worship & Music Committee, choir(s), praise team, and church staff. Accountable to the Pastor and SPPRC. Role & Responsibilities The organist/pianist is expected to: Select and play an organ prelude, offertory and postlude at Sunday worship services and notify the church office of the selections for inclusion in the bulletin and worship slides. Arrange for qualified substitute when unavailable and notify the church office in advance. Assist the Pastor with hymn selection. Accompany the Sanctuary choir on piano during Wednesday night rehearsals and assist in warming the choir up prior to the worship service on Sundays. Accompany and rehearse soloists and other choirs as scheduled. Facilitate congregational singing through effective hymn and doxology accompaniment. Play organ/piano for seasonal and special services (Advent, Christmas, Lent, Holy Week, Easter, etc.) as scheduled. Provide organ/piano music for weddings and funerals when available, with additional compensation per church policy. Monitor the condition of the organ and piano(s) and report maintenance needs to Music Director. Attend Church Staff Meetings when scheduled within regular work hours. Professional Expectations Maintain preparation and rehearsal practices consistent with high-quality worship leadership. Demonstrate reliability, professionalism, collegiality. Participate in annual performance review. Engage in ongoing professional growth as feasible.Pay:
