Accountabilities The Colgate University Department of Music seeks a collaborative pianist to work with the choral ensembles, student recitals, other music ensembles and voice lessons. Experience working in collaboration with choirs is preferred but pianists who have worked with vocalists in any capacity or other instrumentalists will also be considered.
Requirements Professional Experience/ Qualifications At least one post-secondary degree in piano performance or collaborative piano. Equivalent professional experience will also be considered
Fluency in open-score reading
Successful record of achievement in solo and collaborative piano performance
Must be a team player, with ability to work well with college-age students
Ability to travel to Colgate twice a week for rehearsals (Tuesdays and Thursdays 5:30pm-8:00pm, and extended hours during performance weeks
Commitment to performing and exploring diverse repertoire Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in music with significant accompanying experience, Master's degree preferred. Additional significant accompanying experience may be considered instead of a degree. Ability to sight read or prepare, prior to rehearsal, piano accompaniments and choral scores.
