Job Description

Purpose:
To Provide instrumental music for worship and accompany the Adult Choir in support of the music ministry and worship experience of the Rush United Methodist Church.
Responsibilities:
-Prepare and provide music for Sunday worship service. Accompany soloists as needed. -Accompany the choir at all rehearsals and for worship. -Play for special services as required. Including (but not limited to) Christmas Eve, Lenten services and Holy week services. -Play for funerals and weddings on as needed basis (and upon availability), being permitted to receive compensation from the parties involved.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Previous experience accompanying a choir and soloists Appropriate piano skills Good interpersonal skills Comfortable working as part of a team

Positive, flexible outlook Maintain appropriate work relationships and boundaries Maintains compliance with the UMC Book of Discipline and adherence to the policies and procedures of the church Create an environment where everyone is given the opportunity to fully belong
Accountability:
- The Pianist is accountable to the Director of Worship. This individual will need to notify the Director of Worship a minimum of three weeks prior to planned absences (preferably as soon as known) to allow for scheduling of a substitute pianist.

$112.00 - $176.00 per week Ability to
