  • Part-time Position Summary Grace Fellowship is seeking a gifted and humble Worship Leader to guide our congregation in sung worship that is fitting to our Reformed tradition.
This part-time role is one of service to the body—leading God's people in heartfelt, theologically grounded praise. The Worship Leader operates under the authority of the pastor, who retains responsibility for the structure and content of the worship service, and will collaborate closely with church leadership to ensure that Sunday worship reflects the convictions and character of Grace Fellowship. Role & Authority The Worship Leader serves in a supporting capacity within the worship service. The pastor holds sole authority over the structure and content of each service, including song selection, liturgical order, and the overall shape of worship. The Worship Leader's primary responsibility is the faithful and skillful execution of that vision—leading the congregation to sing with understanding and joy. Key Responsibilities Congregational Worship Leadership
  • Lead the congregation in sung worship each Sunday in a manner consistent with Grace Fellowship's Reformed theological tradition.
  • Foster an atmosphere of reverence, participation, and joy among the congregation.
  • Execute the order of worship as determined by the pastor, including all musical elements of the service.
  • Be prepared to lead worship independently—without additional musicians—if or when necessary. Musician Leadership
  • Recruit, schedule, and lead volunteer musicians in Sunday worship.
  • Provide musical direction with a gentle spirit and confident leadership, cultivating a unified and encouraging team environment.
  • Communicate rehearsal expectations clearly and in a timely manner. Technical & Logistical Duties
  • Maintain a functional understanding of the church's sound equipment and be able to operate it as needed.
  • Coordinate with the church administrator or tech volunteers regarding sound and presentation needs for each service. Qualifications Character & Faith
  • A committed follower of Jesus Christ with an active and growing faith.
  • In agreement with the doctrine and worship philosophy of Grace Fellowship.
  • A servant's heart—eager to lead others in worship rather than to perform.
  • Humble, teachable, and able to work under pastoral authority with a willing spirit. Musical Skill
  • Demonstrated ability to lead congregational singing with a strong, clear voice.
  • Proficiency in guitar—sufficient to lead worship independently.
  • Ability to learn and lead a varied repertoire appropriate to a Reformed worship context.
  • Experience leading a band, small ensemble or volunteer musicians is preferred.
  • Play in any time or key signature as necessary.
  • Ability to play/lead from vocal/chord/lead sheets preferred. Technical Aptitude
  • At minimum, a functional working knowledge of basic sound equipment (mixing board, microphones, monitors).
  • Comfortable troubleshooting minor audio issues independently.
