Job Description
We are seeking a gifted Church Pianist to enrich our worship services through inspiring musical accompaniment. This vital role involves accompanying congregational singing, choir and solo performances, and enhancing the spiritual atmosphere of our community gatherings. The ideal candidate will bring a vibrant energy to the piano, possess a strong sense of musicality, and be committed to fostering an uplifting worship experience for all attendees. Duties Provide live piano accompaniment for weekly worship services, special events, and ceremonies Lead congregational singing by playing hymns and contemporary worship music. We generally use the Chalice Hymnal and Chalice Praise books. Assist in rehearsals with choir members or soloists as needed to prepare for upcoming services on Sunday mornings. Support the overall musical program by introducing new pieces and arranging music when required Create a welcoming musical environment that encourages participation and spiritual connection Skills Proficiency in playing the piano with a versatile repertoire suitable for various worship styles Strong understanding of musical theory, sight-reading, and improvisation skills Experience in a church setting is a plus. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with church leadership and musicians Ability to adapt quickly to different service formats and musical directions Passion for spiritual music and fostering an uplifting worship atmosphere Join us in inspiring faith through music!
