Job Description

Church With a Heart in the Heart of the City Freemason Street Baptist Church is an active, inclusive and affirming community of committed Christians. We are looking for a professional level ALTO to join our choir of other professional and volunteer singers. A degree in music or equivalent experience is required. As a professional core singer, you will be responsible for rehearsing and performing sacred music as both a soloist and a member of our ensemble. Your passion for music, excellent musicianship, and proficiency in various musical styles will be essential in creating meaningful worship experiences for our congregation. Perform as a soloist and as part of an ensemble for Sunday morning worship and various holiday services. Possess excellent sight-reading abilities to quickly learn and interpret musical scores. Adapt to and perform in a variety of musical styles. Collaborate effectively with fellow musicians and director. Attend rehearsals and actively participate in refining vocal techniques and musical interpretations. Maintain a professional demeanor.
Requirements:
A trained singer with a solid foundation in vocal techniques and styles. Proficient in sight-reading and able to quickly learn and interpret musical scores. Possess excellent musicianship skills. Experience in both solo and ensemble singing. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members. Punctual, reliable, and able to commit to Wednesday evening rehearsals and Sunday morning worship services. Availability to perform during scheduled rehearsals and church services, including Wednesday evenings 6:30p•8:00p, Sunday mornings 9:00a•12:30p. Availability to perform during various holiday services including Good Friday, Easter, and Christmas Eve.
Compensation:
This position offers a monthly pay range of $500•600 based on approximately 5 hours of work per week. The exact compensation will be determined based on qualifications and experience. If you meet the requirements above, we invite you to apply. Please submit your resume for consideration.
