The accompanist's responsibilities may include assisting with masterclasses, accompanying the voice area through applied lessons, auditions, and juries, and accompanying a choir or the Opera. Accompanists are expected to be thoughtful and proactive members of the Music community and have a desire to work with a diverse student population in a collaborative, inclusive and learning-centered collective. Primary Responsibilities Provide collaborative piano support in Opera Theatre, including all rehearsals and performances. Required Qualifications Demonstrated experience working in and fostering an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in collaborative piano or piano performance, or commensurate experience in accompanying. Experience accompanying applied lessons from beginner to advanced levels Experience accompanying in an academic setting
