Person In Charge (PIC)

Job Overview The Person in Charge (PIC) plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our retail environment. This position involves overseeing daily activities, managing staff, and maintaining high standards of customer service. The PIC will be responsible for leading the team, implementing store policies, and ensuring compliance with all operational procedures. This role is ideal for individuals with a background in retail management who are looking to take on a leadership position. The PIC will report and work directly with the Store Manager and will be responsible for the store in times when the Store Manager is not present. Responsibilities Supervise daily operations of the store, ensuring efficiency and productivity. Manage employee schedules and oversee payroll processes. Conduct employee orientation and training to ensure staff are well-equipped to perform their roles. Assist in the recruiting process to build a strong team. Maintain high standards of customer service by addressing customer inquiries and resolving issues promptly. Oversee inventory management and ensure proper handling of merchandise. Utilize POS systems effectively for transactions and reporting. Collaborate with the assistant manager to implement marketing strategies that drive sales. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the grocery store environment. Requirements Proven experience in retail management or a related field. Strong understanding of payroll processes and employee management. Experience with interviewing and recruiting staff is preferred. Familiarity with grocery store operations is a plus. Proficiency in using POS systems for sales transactions. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members.
