Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Aide to provide essential support and assistance to individuals in various care settings. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for clients through attentive caregiving, patient observation, and personalized care. This role offers an opportunity to work closely with diverse populations, including seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those requiring specialized memory or dementia care. The Personal Care Aide will play a vital role in promoting independence, safety, and comfort for those under their care. Responsibilities Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support. Monitor and document patient conditions, vital signs, and behavioral changes to ensure optimal care planning. Support medication administration and adherence to prescribed care plans while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption as necessary. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment by performing light cleaning duties and ensuring sanitation standards are met. Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being and social engagement. Utilize specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or transfer devices to assist with patient mobility safely. Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals, family members, and team members to deliver comprehensive patient-centered care. Qualifications Prior experience in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly desirable. Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care (including Alzheimer's), memory care, and hospice support. Certification in First Aid and CPR is required; additional training in HIPAA compliance is preferred. Familiarity with working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is advantageous. Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically assist patients using transfer equipment such as Hoyer lifts. Strong communication skills coupled with a compassionate approach to caregiving. Experience in medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and developing or following care plans is beneficial. Demonstrated ability to work independently while maintaining a team-oriented attitude in fast-paced environments.
