Job Description

Job Summary Join our dedicated team as a Personal Care Assistant and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring support with daily activities and personal care. In this vital role, you will provide compassionate assistance to promote independence, safety, and well-being. Whether working in assisted living communities, home care settings, or group homes, you will be a trusted partner in delivering high-quality, person-centered care. This paid position offers an opportunity to develop your caregiving skills while positively impacting the community. Responsibilities Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to ensure comfort and dignity. Monitor patients' health by taking vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature; observe for changes in condition and report findings promptly. Support medication administration following prescribed care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations to maintain confidentiality. Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning to meet dietary needs and preferences. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks like cleaning, laundry, and organizing personal spaces. Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or other mobility aids to assist with patient transfers safely and effectively. Document care activities accurately and update care plans regularly to reflect evolving needs or changes in condition. Skills Proven experience in home health, assisted living, nursing homes, or group homes with a focus on senior or disability care. Knowledge of patient observation techniques, vital signs monitoring, and medication protocols. Strong understanding of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism. Certifications such as CPR, First Aid, HIPAA compliance training are highly desirable. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate mobility aids like Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs when necessary. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare teams. Compassionate attitude combined with patience and respect for individual dignity.
