Personal Care Assistant

Responsibilities Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to ensure comfort and hygiene. Monitor patient health by checking vital signs, observing behavior, and reporting changes promptly to healthcare professionals. Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA privacy standards to ensure safe and confidential treatment. Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning to meet dietary needs and preferences. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, and organizing personal spaces. Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs to assist with mobility and prevent injury during transfers. Document care activities accurately in compliance with healthcare regulations and assist in updating individualized care plans regularly. Skills Proven experience in home & community care, assisted living, nursing homes, or group homes with a focus on patient observation and monitoring. Knowledge of first aid, CPR, Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care, hospice care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining proper body mechanics. Strong understanding of medication administration procedures and vital signs measurement. Excellent communication skills for working effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure client confidentiality at all times. Compassionate attitude combined with patience for working with seniors or individuals experiencing cognitive or physical disabilities.
