In this vital role, you will provide personalized care to promote independence, safety, and well-being. Whether assisting with personal hygiene, meal preparation, or medication management, your efforts will help create a warm and supportive environment for those in need. This position offers an opportunity to work closely with individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, group homes, and home care environments. Responsibilities Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to ensure comfort and dignity. Monitor patient health by checking vital signs like blood pressure, pulse, and temperature; observe and report any changes or concerns promptly. Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure safety and compliance. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning patient areas and laundry. Use specialized equipment like Hoyer lifts or transfer belts to safely assist with mobility and transfers. Document care activities accurately in accordance with facility protocols and coordinate with healthcare professionals for comprehensive patient support. Requirements Prior experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred. Certification in First Aid and CPR is required; additional training in Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care, or hospice care is advantageous. Ability to work with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, or other special needs while demonstrating patience and empathy. Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and recognizing signs of distress or health issues. Physical stamina for heavy lifting and assisting with patient transfers using equipment such as Hoyer lifts. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and privacy of patient information. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members, patients, families, and healthcare providers.
