Job Description

Overview We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Attendants to provide essential support and care to individuals with diverse needs in various care settings. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for residents and clients through attentive, respectful, and personalized care. Duties Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support. Monitor patients' health by observing vital signs, reporting changes, and maintaining accurate care records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support medication administration and ensure adherence to prescribed care plans under the supervision of nursing staff. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs while maintaining cleanliness and safety standards in meal preparation areas. Operate mobility equipment such as Hoyer lifts safely to assist with transfers and prevent injury during patient handling. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment by performing routine cleaning tasks in resident rooms, common areas, and treatment spaces. Engage residents in social activities and provide companionship to promote emotional well-being, especially for those with dementia or Alzheimer's disease. Follow all safety protocols including CPR and first aid procedures to respond effectively during emergencies or incidents. Experience Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, group homes, or home health environments is highly desirable. Demonstrated knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, and care planning processes. Familiarity with working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, dementia, or memory care needs. Experience handling residents' (personal belongings) with respect and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards. Proven ability to perform heavy lifting safely while assisting residents with mobility or transfers using appropriate equipment like Hoyer lifts. Knowledge of infection control practices along with basic nursing skills such as vital signs monitoring and patient care documentation. Strong interpersonal skills coupled with a caring attitude that fosters trust and positive relationships with residents and team members alike.
