Job Description
Job Summary We are looking for someone to come to our house 2 days a week for 2 hours a day to provide personal care such as bathing, shaving, changing bed sheets for a bedbound patient. The days and hours are flexible. Monday and Friday or Tuesday and Friday or any combination spaced apart. We are looking for someone with experience in this area and able to perform these duties. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Giver to provide exceptional care for a bedbound patient in a home setting. This vital role involves delivering personalized assistance to ensure the patient's comfort, safety, and well-being. The ideal candidate will be energetic, attentive, and experienced in long-term care, with a strong commitment to enhancing quality of life through attentive caregiving. You will work closely with healthcare professionals and family members to implement care plans that promote dignity and independence for the patient. Responsibilities Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or other transfer devices Monitor and record vital signs regularly, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration Administer medications accurately according to care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations and safety protocols Provide compassionate support with meal preparation and feeding, ensuring nutritional needs are met Observe and document changes in the patient's condition, behavior, or symptoms to inform healthcare providers Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and ensuring proper infection control practices Support emotional well-being through companionship, engaging in activities suitable for the patient's cognitive status such as dementia or Alzheimer's care Qualifications Prior experience in home health, assisted living, nursing home, or group home environments preferred Knowledge of patient observation techniques and ability to recognize signs of distress or deterioration Certification in CPR and First Aid required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are a plus Experience working with individuals with disabilities, developmental disabilities, autism, dementia or memory care needs highly desirable Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate mobility aids like Hoyer lifts or resident lifts Strong communication skills for coordinating with healthcare teams and family members Compassionate attitude with a commitment to providing respectful and dignified care Join us in making a meaningful difference by providing dedicated support that enhances the quality of life for those who need it most.
