Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Specialist to provide exceptional care and assistance to individuals in various settings, including home, community, assisted living, and long-term care facilities. In this vital role, you will empower clients to maintain independence, enhance their quality of life, and achieve their personal goals through personalized support. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will make a meaningful difference in the lives of those you serve. This paid position offers an opportunity to work closely with diverse populations, including seniors, individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, dementia, and other health conditions. Duties Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts and etc. Monitor patient health by taking vital signs and observing for any changes in condition or behavior Support medication administration following HIPAA guidelines and care plans established by healthcare professionals Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption when necessary Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and ensuring infection control protocols are followed Document patient observations, care activities, and progress accurately in compliance with privacy regulations Engage clients in social activities and provide companionship to promote mental well-being and reduce feelings of isolation Requirements Proven experience in group home settings, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, and hospice support preferred Certifications such as CPR, First Aid, HIPAA compliance training, and medication administration are highly desirable Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks as needed for patient support Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with healthcare teams, families, and clients Working knowledge of care plans, social work principles, and long-term care practices Experience working with people with disabilities—including developmental disabilities or autism—is a plus Join us in making a positive impact by providing compassionate support that enhances independence and dignity. Pay:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
