Full-Time Pest Control Technician Job Description:
Are you looking for a challenging career that will keep you on your toes? Would you like to help families and business owners ensure their properties are safe, beautiful, and free of insects and rodents? You will spend your days traveling to appointments and meeting with customers to assess their pest problems and decide on a treatment plan. Use your creativity and expertise to remove the pests and further protect the client's property. Go home satisfied each evening knowing that you have helped someone keep their property safe and pest-free. Pest Control Technicians (PCTs) are responsible for inspecting buildings and the surrounding property for signs of insects, rodents and other pests. They determine which treatment is best and use the proper baits or traps to remove them. PCTs also create barriers to prevent insects and rodents from re-entering. PCTs should be detail-oriented and able to closely follow instructions to prevent harm to people, pets, and the environment. PCTs must also have the physical stamina to be on their feet for long periods of time and deal with uncomfortable heat or cold when necessary. Excellent record keeping skills are a must.Job Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent Current, Valid in-state driver's license required plus a clean driving record Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly Ability to stand, walk, crouch and climb for long periods of time Must be able to pass a background check Professional appearance and demeanor plus strong customer service skills Dependability and reliability in performance of independent tasks Strong attention to detail and able to apply logic Basic math skills Must be able to pass regulatory testing Must genuinely desire to learn the Pest Control business Must enjoy animals (pets) Major Areas of Responsibility Controlling pests on-site in a variety of accounts. Physically inspecting a variety of residential structures to determine the presence of pests. Communicating directly with homeowners, homebuyers, and their agents regarding the work to be accomplished. Creating diagrams and graphs indicating the type, degree, and location of issues. Performing creative sales solicitations and providing estimates. Coordinating activities with the department managers and other personnel. Submitting all paperwork and collections on a daily basis. Maintain company issued equipment and vehicle in a clean and safe condition at all times. Ensures company procedures, state laws are followed to ensure the safety of themselves, our customers and the public. Other duties as assigned. Physical Demands May be asked to perform general maintenance, such as empty the trash or sweep floors, as part of an employee rotation. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception. Work Environment You will work outdoors in all types of weather. Use and maintain safety equipment including bump caps, gloves, goggles, respirators, eye washers, first aid kits and spill abatement equipment. During a normal work day you may inspect, crawl and work in sub-areas, basements and attics of structures and work with or around desiccants, herbicides, insecticides, propellants, rodenticides, termiticides, and other materials commonly found in and around structures. Personal Protective Equipment and training of safe handling / storage will be provided by the company which will minimize risk when procedure is followed. Operate company vehicles, power sprayers, foggers, dusters, drills, vacuums and a variety of common hand and power tools and other equipment. Perform minor repairs on tools and related equipment as needed and must keep vehicle and equipment in a clean and safe working condition.Benefits:
