Pay:
$20.00 per hour to start, with increases based on performance and experience
Schedule:
Weekday daytime hours, schedule flexible within business operating days. Set weekly schedule once established.
Location:
Fort Wayne, IN area About the Role Established pet cremation company is hiring a part-time operator to run our cremation and memorial services. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in careful work and treats every pet with respect. You'll be the person families are trusting to handle their pets with dignity, working closely with veterinary partners across the region. The work is steady, the team is small, and the role offers real autonomy once you're trained. A good fit for someone who wants meaningful part-time work. What You'll Do Operate our pet cremation equipment safely and efficiently, following established procedures Receive, log, and track incoming pets with attention to detail Process cremated remains and prepare them for return to families Create paw print and clay impression memorial keepsakes Assist with laser-engraved memorial items (urns, tags, boxes) Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow all safety protocols Perform routine maintenance and equipment inspections Follow all environmental and operational compliance requirements What We're Looking For Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently Comfortable with physical work (lifting up to 75 lbs occasionally, standing for extended periods) Detail-oriented; this work demands accuracy in case tracking and pet identification Respectful, professional demeanor; you may interact with grieving families and veterinary staff Mechanical aptitude or willingness to learn equipment operation and basic maintenance Valid driver's license and clean driving record Able to pass a background check High school diploma or equivalent Helpful Experience (Not Required) Previous work with industrial equipment, furnaces, ovens, kilns, or similar Veterinary, animal care, pet services, or funeral/memorial industry background Engraving, laser work, or hands-on craft experience Experience working in a small business or family-run operation What We Offer $20/hour starting wage with raises based on performance Steady part-time schedule, weekdays only, no nights or weekends Paid training; no prior experience in pet cremation required Work that genuinely matters to the pet families we serve To Apply Submit your resume through Indeed.
